A distinguished and celebrated monopole vineyard: the Karthäuserhofberg

Standing out among the finest sites in all of Germany, our monopole vineyard is renowned for its exceptional quality. The vineyards of the Karthäuserhofberg estate, held exclusively by our family, are a truly precious resource.

The Karthäuserhofberg faces south by southwest and covers almost 20 hectares. It stretches up to 254 meters above sea level with gradients of up to 55%. The unique microclimate of the area, plus the distinctive Devonian slate in the soil, has created the ideal combination for producing unforgettable Rieslings

In 1868, the Royal Prussian government commissioned a survey of vineyards in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region and, even then, “Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg” received the highest possible classification.
